Beer Here!

Not that I’m suggesting you become a Booze Hound… it’s just that some of us tend to have a Tipple or Two especially at this time of year.  In that spirit (no pun intended) I present two tastings.  One is a sampler of the Top 10 Countries that really support their distilleries and breweries, and the second a Beer Cookbook of sorts.  Please note I do not personally judge or support these countries, distilleries, brewers, suppliers, or drinkers in any way, shape, or form 🙂

Take Your Medicine :-)

I’m at home nursing a flu with green tea and honey.  Since living in Europe I’ve discovered the medicinal qualities of a Hot Toddy (which for me means forgetting how miserable the flu has me feeling after a few mugs and strangely makes me break out into song until I fall asleep).

I’m going to make this cocktail called the Medicine Man to see what effect it has on me in comparison for purely medicinal purposes  😀

Cocktail shaker and strainer required…

Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 4 sage leaves, divided
Steps
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add white rum, lemon juice, maple syrup, paprika, and 3 sage leaves. Shake well for 30 seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with final sage leaf.

From Estonia, With Love

I hope wherever you are you’re having a good, relaxing, funny, happy day. Once I was given a gift from one of my former flatmates.  She hails from Estonia, and her mother is a natural health therapist who grows and makes her own teas.

My gift is called, ‘Love Tea’ (Romantika Tee in Estonian) and it contains Rose Blossoms, Lavender, and Melissa. I couldn’t be more thrilled by this gift, knowing it’s been lovingly handmade, and by someone who is, like myself, a holistic health practitioner and natural nut for Nature. And Love.

Here’s to Love.
